About us

Rodolphe M. Valle, U.S. Ambassador to Slovakia, inaugurated the InfoUSA Banská Bystrica on September 28, 2005.

The center serves as a focal point for American cultural and information programs in the region of Central Slovakia. The center organizes public discussion and debates with American experts in various fields, lectures and seminars for students. Programs are often organized in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy and Fulbright Commission in Slovakia.

InfoUSA also serves as one of the study rooms in the State Scientific Library in Banská Bystrica. Every holder of a library card can use its rich resources – books, DVDs, videos, and more. Prospective students wishing to study in the USA can access test books for TOEFL, SAT, GRE, and learn more about the application process to American universities. Audiences range from high school students to all those with keen interest in the U.S.

Access to InfoUSA center is free of charge to the State Scientific Library registered members.
